Nettle (Urtica dioica)
Certified organic nettle leaf from France.
Stinging nettle is a herbaceous plant full of nutrients. Both the root and leaf are used for medicinal purposes.
The raw leaves can cause a temporary stinging or burning effect when touched, although when dried or cooked, the leaves are safe to consume.
Nettle is said to be a good source of vitamins A, B1, B2, C, and K, and contains a great amino acid profile compared to other leafy greens. Nettle is also rich in many minerals like iron, copper, manganese, and calcium, and is said to be one of the highest sources of chlorophyll amongst all plants.
Nettle makes an excellent addition to herbal tea blends and imparts a neutral vegetative and herbaceous character. It pairs really well with peppermint.
* Nettle interacts with some medications and is not for use if pregnant
