Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea)
Certified organic echinacea leaves from the Nile River Delta region in Egypt.
Echinacea tea yields a fresh and strong, slightly floral brew with notes of pine.
Echinacea is a plant member of the Asteraceae family related to daisies and ragweed. The leaf, flower, and root are used in herbal medicine, mostly for the common cold. Echinacea seems to activate chemicals in the body that may decrease inflammation. It might also increase the body's immune system.
* Do not take echinacea if you have an auto-immune disorder. Echinacea might have an effect on the immune system that could make these conditions worse.
* Echinacea species are members of the Asteraceae family. People who are sensitive to other members of the Asteraceae family (ragweed, sunflowers, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies) may be at higher risk for allergic reactions to echinacea
